This is a combination of techniques that I use to effectively and holistically help heal the physical and energetic body simultaneously. You can also choose to only have massage during your session or only reiki. Using massage and Reiki together in a healing session allows your body to enter a deep state of relaxation in which healing is compounded exponentially. Toxins are flushed out of the body, circulation improved and energetic blocks may also be removed. Clients that have received intuitive bodywork from me are surprised at the marked positive difference of receiving Reiki with massage as opposed to massage alone. This has lead me to offer massage and Reiki together as Intuitive Bodywork so that my clients can receive the greatest possible benefit from their sessions. Please read on to learn about each technique I use in the bodywork I've developed and how they can help you achieve balance, peace and health in your body.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between client and practitioner. The benefits of receiving a Reiki treatment range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to increased immunity and alleviating chronic pain.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. Aromatherapy may be chosen by the client to enhance the massage experience. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. A general rule of thumb is that if you reach or surpass a 7/10 level of discomfort (10 being excruciatingly painful) let your LMP know so they can reduce their pressure and protect your muscles. Continuing a massage at or beyond a discomfort level of 7/10 is not therepeutic and can actually further damage and/or injure your muscles. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
